Why choose the Urban Thai Kick Pads?

The Urban Thai Kick Pads are an ideal set of entry-level fitness based training pads for beginners & fighters as they are designed for fast punching, kick & knee combination training.

These virtually weightless pads are built with high-density padding to assist with the shock absorption of strikes, Punchtex™ casing for sensational durability & double the padding protection compared to standard boxing focus pads.

You'll also find Hook & Loop forearm straps and a Muay Thai Style handlebars allowing trainers to lock their hands & forearms in with comfortable, full pad control during every training session.

Vigorously Tested

It's deemed negligent to allow students/clients to kick or knee boxing focus pads as they simply are not designed to take the impact or give the user enough protection to withstand the force.

These pads have been placed through rigorous testing and usage by amateur & professional combat athletes for over 10 years.

If you’re looking for a supportive, personal training solution for fast boxing/kickboxing drills, these lightweight kick pads are a must for your training kit!

Product Care Tips

BOXING GLOVES/PADS/MITTS/HEADGEAR
  • Do not use training gear wet - this is abuse and will dramatically increase the effects of wear and tear.
  • After training, always dry your training gear out of your training bag in a well-ventilated area, away from direct sunlight.
  • Where required use a small amount of baby powder on the inside of your gloves to assist with removing excess moisture/sweat and preventing odours.
  • Always use cotton inners or boxing wraps to prevent excess sweat and moisture from deteriorating your products, wear and tear caused by sweat/rot are not covered under warranty.
  • Ensure you have enough training gear to always use a dry set, especially in a fight gym or commercial training environment as overusing an insufficient amount of equipment is abuse and will void your warranty.
  • If you train more than 3-4 times a week, we recommend utilising a second set of equipment to ensure you always have dry equipment.
  • Do not complete push-ups in your boxing gloves unless they specifically state "push up zone" on them.
  • If the product is marked "washable", hand wash the product separately with cold water, do not tumble dry and avoid washing more than 4 times per year.
FLOOR TO CEILING BALLS/SPEED BALLS
  • All speed-balls/floor-to-ceiling balls require weekly inflation and maintenance.
  • Never strike a speedball/floor-to-ceiling ball with bare knuckles.
  • Do not overinflate bladders, especially in hot and humid conditions.
  • Inflate the bladder until the ball feels firm (not rock-hard) allowing your thumbs to gently push into the casing material approx 1.5cm.
  • Changes in temperature will affect require the user to give regular "topping up" of the air into inflated bladders.
  • Lick or lubricate your pump needle before inserting it into bladders, monitor the needle during inflation to avoid accidental bladder punctures.
  • Ensure floor-to-ceiling ball straps are not set too tight, the ball should have a minimum of 25cm of movement in any direction, any less will cause added stress and damage the ball/straps.
  • Straps and bladders are perishable, high wear and tear items and are excluded from manufacturing faults warranty.
  • Set your floor to ceiling ball to the approx. height of your chest for optimal training results.
  • The fitting of non-Punch Equipment accessories to your speed ball/floor to ceiling ball will void your warranty.
BOXING BAGS
  • As wall brackets and ceiling hook attachments can take a considerable amount of force with general boxing bag use, Punch Equipment recommends your boxing bag is installed by a qualified tradesman to ensure proper installation is followed.
  • Review this installation video to increase the durability of your boxing bag bracket and chains: https://youtu.be/AtpZWNTzPyw
  • If you change the fittings/filling or adjust the strap/chain lengths you will void your manufacturing faults warranty.
  • Metal on metal sheering of chains, swivels, replaceable eye-bolts and hooks are effects from wear and tear and are not covered under warranty.
  • Only use stretchy rubber-type materials to fix a boxing bag to the floor with the tie-down anchor feature.
  • Avoid D ring and figure 8 ring wear on boxing bags by hanging them with 10mm rope instead of chain.
  • Boxing bags hung with twisted straps/chain is negligent of assembly and may void your warranty.
  • Beating punching bags with weapons, striking with bare knuckles or shoes may puncture/damage bags which is not covered under warranty.
  • Avoid dragging your boxing bags, this form of damage/wear and tear is not warrantable.
  • Avoid hanging boxing bags near (within 1.5 meters) walls/mirrors and other gym equipment.
  • Wipe your boxing bags down with disinfectant diluted in warm water once per week for hygienic maintenance.
  • Spray/lubricate "D" rings, chains, and places where moving metal parts touch once per week where required.
  • Inspect weekly for wear and tear in strap rings, swivels and chains; failure to do so can result in your boxing bag failing suddenly.
BOXING BOOTS
  • Only use boxing boots on a soft flooring training area or boxing ring.
  • Boxing Boots are designed for boxing training only and should be not be used for other casual wear or other activities.

8 reviews for Urban® Thai Kick Pads

  1. studini

They are so lightweight and easy to move from catching punches through to kicks. The only thing is they don’t sit flat to the forearm/wrist but you get used to it.

  2. Shannan

Absolutely love them. I still can’t get over the weight of them. Highly recommend for anyone looking for a good kick pad.

Pros: Super light, can slip arm straight into them. Great for classes, for any trainer or pad holder. Good for heavy hitters.

Cons: Wrist doesn’t sit flat in pads like my old Thai boxing pads

Best used for: Muay Thai / Kickboxing classes and trainers

  3. Kerry Bergman

These pads are perfect for my smaller frame, giving me more confidence to block some descent kicking. Best Buy for this tiny trainer!

They’re super comfy, with enough support to protect arms and hands from impact.

  4. Athol Kiem

Bought with the intention of using for Muay Thai training at home.

Pros: Light weight, easy to put on and use

Cons: Only one strap at the forearm. Found this to rub when used for a heavy kicker. A second strap at the wrist would've a bonus

Best used for: Mostly hand work with light kicking

  5. Craig Jones

Really light. Heaps of padding and easy to use.
Still fast for boxing and nice surface area for safe kicking. Awesome pads, especially for under $100.

    Pros: Light, well padded.

    Cons: Can’t think of any

Best used for: PT lad work / cardio drills

  6. Allan Zhang

Light weight Kickpad. You can even run your hands through the velcro straps without having to undo them, so they are very easy to put on and take off. Very good for punching and kicking as they are light so you can create quick firing combos using these.

  7. Cheyne Rees

Great light weight pad without sacrificing on padding for the holder. Using for PT sessions and have a wide variety of kickers from light to heavy hitters and the pads take the impact for all levels.
Only small downside is they are stiff when new (same as all pads though) so some complaints from less hardened clients that they aren’t as soft as previous pads which were 5+ years old and well worn in.

  8. Ash Sparkes

The team & I @ Armada Muay Thai use these kick pads with beginners to professionals,
They are so easy to carry, use & store.
If you’re a fitness trainer or professional pad holder, these are fantastic for light & fast pad sessions.

Pros: Lightweight Great for boxing drills too Can wear MMA gloves over the top ;) ( For mean trainers only! )

Best used for: Kickboxing & boxing
